How to install your countertops.

Your makeover, one step at a time!

Gather your Supplies

Before you begin!

1. Check Your Surface - Clean, dry and smooth for the best results.

2. Confirm Your Coverage - Measure and plan so you have enough material.

3. Plan Your Seams - Decide where seams will be least visible.

Steps to your new surface.

  • Clean & Dry Fit

Clean thoroughly and let the surface dry completely. Line it up and check the fit before taping it down into place.

  • Confirm Your Coverage

Make sure your vinyl covers the entire surface, including backsplashes, front edges, and any exposed sides. Tape down in place.

  • Mark & Prep Your Cuts

Use a dry erase marker to mark areas that need trimming, such as sinks, faucets, and corners, before removing the backing.

  • Trim Marked Areas

Cut out the areas you marked using a utility knife or scissors. Make small cuts around sinks, faucets, and before applying the vinyl.

  • Peel & Prepare to Apply

Peel back a small strip or up to half of the vinyl from its backing. Carefully cut away the exposed backing paper before beginning to smooth the vinyl onto your surface with a squeegee.

  • Secure Your Starting Edge

Stick a small section of vinyl down first to anchor it in place

  • Hold & Squeegee

Hold the remaining vinyl up and use your squeegee to smooth the adhered section before peeling away more backing.

  • Work Around Details

Smooth carefully around sinks, faucets, and tight spaces.

  • Finish Edges & Trim

Trim excess material with a sharp utility knife.

  • Heat Set & Check

Give a final pass, check for bubbles, and smooth everything down.

  • Squeegee Check

Go over everything again to make sure all air bubbles are out and edges are secured.

  • Enjoy your hard work!

Once everything is secured and heat set, you can sit back and enjoy your new look!

Little Tricks. Better Results.

  • A Little Tip Before You Start

Take your time! Work in small sections, keep your vinyl supported, and avoid stretching or pulling too hard. If something doesn't look right, stop and adjust before continuing.

  • A Little Heat Goes a Long Way!

A little warmth can make vinyl easier to work with around curves, corners, and tricky areas. A hair dryer works for gentle warming, too! Just keep the heat moving and avoid overheating or stretching the vinyl.

  • Tape It Before You Wrap It!

Apply painter's tape around sinks, faucets, and other obstacles before installing. This helps prevent the vinyl from grabbing onto those surfaces and provides a protective barrier while trimming.
